Logo EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Limited Hazardous Substances Applications EDF nuclear power stations across the UK

Overview

We were instructed to obtain various land use consents for EDF's fleet of nuclear power stations

Strategy

We  advised  EDF on the changes to the Hazardous Substances Regulations post the Seveso II Directive.  We assisted in formulating an application strategy designed to ensure each nuclear generating station had compliant hazardous substances consent. We lead the production of applications, certificates, site notices and press notices and have acted as an agent throughout the consultation held with the Health and Safety Executive.  We also used our extensive experience of hazardous substances and the consenting process to develop a bespoke technical addendum.

Outcome

Hazardous substances consents were granted by Shepway, West Somerset, East Lothian, Suffolk Coastal District and Hartlepool Councils in 2012.

Client Comment

Zyda Law's ... breadth of experience in the Energy sector has not only helped specific projects but allowed us to improve our generic approach to planning issues. I would have no hesitation in recommending Zyda Law.
