Why our work is important

As leading planning lawyers, we understand the issues facing the housing market and UK generally. Government policy is driven towards increasing the supply of housing to meet the demand for affordable homes. Our work helps to make this goal a reality. We have assisted developer clients in gaining planning permission for their developments and have also assisted local groups to ensure that local planning policy, including site selection for housing developments, are appropriate for the area.

Affordable Housing
Planning Policy
  • Affordable housing is high on the Government’s agenda and there is increasing demand and pressure on developers to meet the affordable housing shortfall in the UK. We are committed to providing commercially tailored advice to our clients in respect of the affordable housing targets.

We are experts in understanding and advising on planning policy and we have experience in dealing with viability assessments and transposing these requirements into section 106 agreements.

We are experienced in conducting planning appeals and can assist clients in making an appeal against the Local Planning Authority’s refusal of such a proposal for revising affordable housing requirements.

  • We are experts in advising on planning policy. Our work across all of our sectors involves keeping up to date with all relevant policy. We also assist our clients in influencing planning policy by responding to consultations, developing Supplementary Planning Guidance and where unsuitable policies are proposed by a local planning authority, setting out a case against such policies.
